Getting Your Message Across Internationally
Influencing Skills
Influencing is the technique we use to increase our chances of persuading others to act in the way we want, while helping them to achieve their objectives at the same time. People are influenced when they see that someone is suggesting an approach that is in line with their own objectives, values and beliefs. To influence others we need to develop a persuasive and credible case, and then communicate it in a way that the other person can relate to.
By the end of the training, delegates will:
- understand the influencing process
- have practised the key skills for influencing others
- understand the need to consider others' needs and concerns when influencing them
- be able to use the skills learned on the course in their daily lives
