International Presentations Skills
Course Description
This is a presentations skills course to help presenters prepare for presenting to international audiences. While many of the skills are undoubtedly the same as for the domestic audience, like keeping the audience’s interest and attention, and using the voice, body language, structure, and visuals effectively, there are other vital considerations that the international presentation must take into account.
For example, presenters must be able to adapt their language to allow non-native English speakers to understand them easily. They must be prepared for different styles of presentations, and different listening and questioning habits, as well different attention spans. They must be aware of the dangers of inappropriate humour, and be sensitive to different cultural norms and expectations when presenting internationally.
What delegates will gain from the course:
- an understanding of how to adapt their presentation to an international audience
- the opportunity to examine their presenting strengths, and get feedback on their performance
- the chance to work on their weaknesses, and to practise different ideas and tips to further improve their presentations
- greater confidence in making memorable and interesting presentations
- return to the workplace with a well- rehearsed presentation that can be implemented immediately
